Whoa, I look like a Bratz doll.

Friday, November 20, 2009
Not really! This look just reminded me of those damn Bratz dolls that my nieces love so much. They freak me out with their giant heads and slutty little bodies. Creepers!

I wanted to try something a bit different with my eyes, can you tell I'm so uninspired lately? I'm bored with the normal application techniques I use. I wish I could watch youtube videos, but they bore me to death. I can't do it. The only videos I ever watch are Gloria's "tutorials"! I can't remember for the life of me who linked these, but they are hilarious! I love the Ganguru one..."Purity lipstick" XD

Imagine me, only tan, blond, and anorexic.

What I used:
-The She Space Powdered Diamond Dust in Stolen Soul- turquoise mineral glitter in a black base
-Fyrinnae Daemon's Tale- rich combination of purple and gold (looks very light in the picture, but is deeper irl)
-Sassy Minerals Shimmer Eye Candy in Gaining Ground- pale rosy beige with flashes of green and pink shimmer

-Detrivore Primer
-Revlon Fantasy Lashes in Lush
-Allure by Jen Innocence blush- glowing pink
-Revlon lipstick in Silver City Pink

See what I mean? Total Bratz Doll. Daemon's Tale in inner vee and outer vee. Stolen Soul in middle of lid and middle of bottom lid. Gaining Ground on browbone. Lush lashes on outer corner of upper lashline. (I'll be doing a review on these soon!)

For some reason, all my closed eye shots sucked and made my eyes look all crepe-y! Grr! The glitter in Stolen Soul is very fine, but still noticable.

Aaaand, as a testament to Detrivore primer (again) this is my makeup a full 10 hours later! The lighting is a bit different, but you can see that it barely faded, only in the inner corner where my eyes run really bad.

What do you think? Do you like wearing the darkest color in the middle of your lid? I've never tried it before...I'm still on the fence. It looked cooler in real life, the camera can't really capture the awesomeness of TSS's diamond dusts!

Happy weekend!

The Requisite Storage Post- only 41.91!!

My apartment is pretty tiny. Our bathroom has no counters and the bedrooms are full up with junk. My only option, then, is to do my makeup in the living room! I have my own little corner where I do my school work and makeup. It's on a loveseat, so thats why you always see that blue fabric in all of my pictures! Now I'll show you how I organize everything. It's not very pretty or fun, but cheap and easy to find everything (and thats what matters, right?)

This post is a gigantic picture whore, so click the "read more"...

Lime Tart Inspired Look & More Kawaii Jewels!

Wednesday, November 18, 2009
Here we go again! Melly Kay from Less Apathy, More Cake gives me more inspiration, this time in the form of a teensy weensy lime tart! What I used:
-Sassy Minerals Shimmer Eye Candy in Perplexed- shimmering beige with subtle flashes of green and silver
-Sassy Minerals Shimmer Eye Candy in False Pretenses- vivid minty green
-Sassy Minerals Shimmer Eye Candy in Flattery- soft yellow with gold shimmer
-Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Underground- metallic taupe
-Collection 2000 Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in Pizazz- Bright green sparkles
-Fyrinnae Inks Liquid Liner in Colourful Metaphor- Light green that changes to vibrant lime to a silver tinged with pink
Most of these colors are sheer with a duochrome sort of effect, so they look a lot better in person! And drawing a tiny lime slice? Looked waaay better in my head than in real life XD Underground lined around eyes. Perplexed over liner. False Pretenses (which photographs like POO) on lid and crease and inner vee. Flattery on browbone. Tiny lime drawn with Pizazz and Colourful Metaphor. A dab of lip balm with Perplexed dusted over it on lips. I got my cute lil' rainbow charm necklace from Running with Scissors back in October before i went to Chicago. Things have been pretty crazy since then, but I was wearing this today and wanted to share! How cute is the placement of these charms? Love, love, love, love!! And here's my Alice in Wonderland resin ring (pic taken from website, you can tell, cause its a great picture!)I always get tons of compliments whenever I wear my RwS jewelry! Running with Scissors has all of their gorgeously kawaii Halloween goodies 1/2 off right now too! I definitely recommend them!

Do you have any favorite places to find inspiration? Have you tried Running with Scissors?

Spring Flower Inspired Look!

Tuesday, November 17, 2009
No more sunshine for me! Ohio winter has officially begun and it gets light around 8am and dark by 5pm...I started looking at flower pictures and loved this one! What I used:
-Hi Fi Cosmetics Brandy-amazing lavender-pink with tons of shimmer
-Hi Fi Cosmetics In Bloom-hot pink with a little sparkle
-Hi Fi Cosmetics Vogue- icy pink with SUPER shimmer
-Hi Fi Cosmetics Boom Shaka Laka- dark forest green with fine gold shimmer
-Covergirl TruShine Lipcolor in Powderpink Shine- soft, shimmery pink
-Exposed Organics Nectar mixing mediumI didn't use a primer because I wanted a sort of soft, washed out effect. Hi Fi shadows are really pigmented though, so everything still came out great! Please excuse the brows...seriously, they are OUT OF CONTROL >.<Brandy in inner vee. Vogue in middle of lid. In Bloom in outer vee, crease, and buffed downwards towards cheeks. Brandy again as highlight and dusted over In Bloom to make a duochrome-y effect. Boom Shaka Laka wetline on top and bottom and smudged.
I can't believe I haven't tried out Brandy shadow yet! It's so gorgeous in person! So soft with the perfect amount of shimmer and shine, but still pigmented enough to see. I always have trouble with light colors showing up on my pale skin, but Brandy did the trick!

I actually cleaned up my kit today and found Powderpink Shine. I've forgotten how much I love the TruShine lip formula. It's really moisturizing and glossy, with a comfortable non-sticky texture. It stays on for HOURS surprisingly! I mean, I went to class, post office, and the grocery store and when I came home...still looks the same! The color Powderpink is pigmented enough to hide my dark-ish lips, but still "see-through" enough that I don't look dead. Once I took it off (I hate eating or drinking with anything on my lips!), they felt nice and soft and not like I've been wearing lipstick all day. Two big thumbs up for TruShine!

Have you tried TruShine? Is it all grey where you live yet? Or are you one of those damn lucky ones with sun all year round XD What do you think of Brandy shadow? Are you into pale lavender as an eyecolor?

Five Favorites...Traditional Eyeliner!

Monday, November 16, 2009
I had to split this into two parts...This one is my favorite non-mineral traditional type liners. I actually love pencils, liquid and cream/gel equally, although I find myself reaching for pencils most often for their easy and quick application. 1. Bed Head Big Fat Fun Smudgie in Lilac- a soft and slightly shimmery cool light purple that lasts forever! I don't give this color nearly enough love. It makes my eyes pop and is a fun alternative to black and surprisingly goes with almost any color of shadow. The formula is sort of like UD, but a bit less creamy. $16, but I think you find it cheaper online.
2. Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Underground- metallic taupe. I don't know where this color had been all my life! A lot of the UD colors are talked about all the time- Zero, Yeyo, Ransom, Electric. No one ever talks about Underground! It's such a perfect everyday color and looks great all day long. $17 for full size or buy a mini in a kit or ebay for $8

3. Collection 2000 Glam Crystals in Hustle- purple-y taupe-y silver-y glitter liner. I freaking love this stuff! It adds such a sweet and unique touch to any look. The multi-colored shimmer means it lasts goes with every color and the formula is to die for. No random falling-off bits here! (No idea how much this one costs! Pounds confuse me!)
4. Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero-black. Yep, I love it. It doesn't smudge and stays put on the waterline. I have like 4 minis of it! It's a deep black and works great for layering with shadows! $17 for full size or buy a mini in a kit or ebay for $8
5. Loreal HIP Color Rich Cream in Black- black. My perfect gel liner! I even love the brush it comes with, which is super rare. This shit stays on for a loooong time with takes a major scrubbin to get off. The color is inky and the blackest black I own. I love it so much for tightlining, but my laziness gets the best of me most days. I don't actually think its worth the $12 price tag though since you can almost always get it BOGO or on sale somewhere.

What are your favorite eye liners? Do you like any of these? Are you a pencil, liquid or gel kind of gal?

New collections make me happy!

Sunday, November 15, 2009
Ah the Holiday Season. A time for joy & new makeup collections. Oddly, only one of these is actually a Holiday collection, but oh well! Let me show you the things I'm excited about!

(Please note that all pictures are copyright of whatever website I stole them from XD, links will be posted!)

Stardust Cosmetics Crystals & Velvet Collection
It includes 14 new and divine mineral pigments (with 3 "sets" of 3 colors each that match perfectly), 3 new shimmerliners and 3 Shimmerstorm sparkles, including body glitter and cheek glisten! I love how Stardust has something for everyone and included more than just shadows in the collection. A full sample set is $19!! Here are some of my favorites:
Winter's Kiss Shimmerstorm Sparkle- cheek/face shimmer. Palest rose with a cool blue sheen. (Oh my goodness! This is so perfect and pretty!)
Crystal eyeshadow Trio (How perfect are these??)
Artic Kiss- palest icy pink with delicate twinkles
Crystals and Velvet- vibrant purple with icy blue glitters
Northern Dream- deep smoky blue crystalized with prismatic shimmer

Next up is Evil Shade's new Wonderland Collection, inspired by, of course, Alice in Wonderland! I can't wait to wear Sweet Alice with, well, basically all those other colors! How cool is Whooo are you?? I love a yellowed sour apple green! You can get the sample set for $5!Also up from Evil Shades are her new blushes! I ordered Burlesque, I think it will be purrrfect for pale chicks like me! While I sort of patiently await The She Space's next limited edition, I'm totally coveting the Scorpio Astrology collection! I love that TSS does so many new and fun collections, as well as having like 1000 permanent colors to choose from! Every month a new Astrology collection is added and they stay available all year! I know I have a full Cancer set XD A full sample collection is $6!

I'm pretty much *in love* with all of these Scorpio colors. I think this is one of the most wearable of the Astrology's! (And how amazing is Rolled in Opals? Very amazing, thank you.)

So are you excited about any new Holiday (or uh not-so-Holiday) collections this year?
