Aromaleigh Rocks! Sonic Eyes Mini Review & Swatches

I don't think I've ever reviewed these, but I've had them forever! I love the Rocks collection and definitely need more of them! One of the most important things using these colors is to make sure you use a base. You definitely need a good one for these puppies. I suggest the stickier and heavier, the better. I don't think UDPP cuts it for this one. I used my beloved Detrivore primer in the swatches compared to just swatching them dry.

Rocks! stopped me from becoming an old lady! I used to be very adventuresome with my hair and make up, but now I'm over 50. I've put on weight, my hair has gotten at least 50% gray and my clothes have gotten baggy and elastic waisted. Then, rocks! I got lots of samples and started playing - brightlining! Red on my eyes! Highlighted with bright green! Purple and green! Sparkles! Brownsugar on my cleavage! "Warm" colors worn WITH "cool" colors! Now my hair is cut short and spiky again and it's a rich, shiny, yummy dark red. I get a massage every payday. I have red, pink and lime green shoes. I wear wild print capris. I'm buying smaller clothes I haven't gotten smaller, but I'm not hiding anymore. I feel cute and fun again. My head's high, my shoulders are back and I'm striding and smiling! Like I said when I first opened my rocks! - woo hoo!!

suspectdevice- smooth matte tangerine coral. I think because of my ultra pale skin, this color barely shows up dry. It might on a tanner gal though...This one is matte and a very nice texture, easy to blend, but can get a bit chalky without primer. You can definitely see the difference between dry and with primer! I love this color! I think the Detrivore primer (which is yellow) may turn it a bit more yellow-y orange.

iwantcandy- super duper hot baby pink with sweet sparks of glitz. Believe it or not, this was my FIRST Aromaleigh color!! This is a bit warmer than psychocandy, more of a true pink. Without a primer, this color still looks pretty but POPS with it. You can't really see in the picture but there is some major silvery glitter/shimmer in this one.

psychocandy- yummy hot fuschia with crystal sparkles. Basically the same texture/glitter-wise as iwantcandy, but a more purple cool toned pink. And, yes. You totally need both.

flowersofromance- delicious rosy hue with a punch, blue green glitters. The swatches for this color came out like poop, but I swear its beyond gorgeous! It's a deeper warm pink with very, very slight blue-green glitter. You can see the glitter a lot better with a primer...I actually think they are more "shimmer" as they are smaller than the glitter in the other pinks. Whoa, technical.

loveonyourside Lip Tint- Loud reddish tangerine. I love this color! A bright punch of orange without being too "lipstick-y". Goes amazing with flowersofromance!

strychnine- intense bright cool green. For some reason, this color seems more satin-y to me than the rest. Its really hard to find a cool toned green but this one totally hits the mark. Again, I think this color is pretty awesome dry too.

planetearth- subtly shimmering intense primary blue with pink sparkles. Holy amazing! Dry or on top of a primer, this color is amazing. And I don't even like blue shadow that much. It has sort of an ethereal twinkling halo of pink on it that I could not for the life of my capture on camera.

moonagedaydream- exquisite deep teal blue with gold shimmer. I think this is a 'cult favorite'! I always saw people using it and decided to try it for myself...It definitely mans up to the hype surrounding it. I don't care for it dry, I have a problem with it going on uneven, but on top of a primer, this becomes possibly the most beautiful color ever! It's really a must have!

doubledare- deep greyed purple with intense green sparkles. Another totally unique and fab color! It came out weird in the swatch, but its actually really pretty dry as well as on primer. I'm not sure if you can see the green sparkles but it adds just the perfect hint of smokey gorgeousness to an otherwise normal color, making it unique. I love this in the crease, as a liner or all over for a smoky eye!

Just a small note...Rocks! colors are not a 'traditional' mineral makeup product. They contain D&C colorants. A patch test is recommended just in case you have sensitive skin! (I'm allergic to practically everything these days, but not these yet!)
