Pic from Sassy's websiteSassy Minerals is one of the cutest, sassiest (duh) companies I've seen in a while. A fairly new company, it was started by fellow makeup junkies! Here is their "mission statement" (which I think is super cute too!):
Sassy Minerals give you the same lightweight, beautiful coverage you've come to expect from other top mineral makeup lines, all while making room for your more adventurous side with fun colors and plenty of sparkle. Because let's face it – 'Petal' and 'Pearl' are beautiful, but there are times they just won't do! You want it all: bold eye pigments plus shimmer but with a bare skin feel, MAC-like colors but without the synthetic fillers, natural ingredients that are also fashion-forward. Fear not. Our mineral makeup products are unique, just like you. Each color is a custom-blended marvel created in the Sassy design lab to turn you into a makeup artist! We don't use mass-marketed bases, and don't work with private label companies. What fun would that be?
Yay! Sassy Minerals is everything I want in a company...custom blended colors, fun attitude and great makeup!
Sassy sent me foundation, blush, and eye colors, all of which you have seen me wearing! Here is a small breakdown of each thing I've tried:
First Base Foundation- My match is Cool Fair. This gives fairly heavy coverage, but it is buildable so if you only need a little it still works! My pores looked smaller and it gave an "airbrush" sort of finish. There are 25 colors to choose from and samples are $0.75 in a jar!
So Cheeky Shimmer Blush- Ah, I love these! They are smooth and blendable with the *perfect* amount of pigmentation. Even when I was using the lightest blush, First Kiss (coral peach with golden shimmer), I only needed a pinch to get a flush you could see. There are sooo many gorgeous colors to choose from, I really want more! I also tried Afterburn (warm copper rose), Bloom with Creativity (cool petal pink with shimmers of lilac, close to my favorite Fyrinnae blush Charm, but more wearable), and Over the Garden Gate (soft copper rose). Every single one was easy to blend and pigmented, no duds here! Samples are $0.75 in a jar.
(There are also Silk Luster blushes, which are closer to mattes, and bronzers)
Eye Candy Shimmer Shadow- Every color I tried was amazing! I had very few fallout issues (the only color I did was with Why Not) and the consistancy is a light powder similar to The She Space. One of the things I liked about them so much was that you can really SEE the different colored shimmers and sparkles. The lasting power is very good and on par with most minerals. I tried both with and without a sticky base and it worked well both ways.
Eye Candy Silk Luster Shadow- I only tried one, Haunted (heathered periwinkle) and it was everything I want in a matte shadow. No chalkiness or that weird smell here! There is a HUGE variety of Silk Lusters, so if you've been looking for a certain color without the shimmer, Sassy is the place to check!
Eye Candy Liners- These definitely do the job! They can be used wet or dry. Sometimes I find mineral liners to be, uh, "lacking" (re: crappy) when put on dry, but these are very intense and pigmented! I prefer to use a mixing medium and then dust the color dry over it, but that's just me. I tried Endless Party (vibrant purple with blue and purple sparkles), Flash of Brilliance (smooth black with intense sparkling flashes of gold, aqua and silver) and My Mantra (deep neutral brown with slight rose tones and golden shimmer). I would recommend them all highly! I especially liked that the sparkles and shimmer stayed on with no fallout. There are matte, shimmer and sparkle options.
All Eye Candy's are $0.75 for samples and $4.25 for full size. Great prices too!
There are also Deja Vu items available for blushes and shadows, which are "some familiar faces and old friends, complete with a Sassy spin!" So cute!
The website is phenomenal. Very crisp, clean and easy to navigate. Each color has the ingredients listed and you can even make a wishlist! The colors on the website swatches are pretty accurate and the descriptions are perfect.
The Sassy girls were easy and fun to talk to and answered all my questions!
Overall, I'm really happy and excited to introduce Sassy Minerals to you! Yet another company I've fallen in love with!
Let me know if you would enjoy some swatches! I'll be posting another FotD with Sassy tomorrow, so I can probably sneak some swatches in if Ohio decides to be sunny.
Have you tried Sassy Minerals yet? Anything you are excited about? I can't wait to get my paws on some more blushes!!
