Sassy Haunted Apparition (Spooky!) & Kat Von D lipgloss Review

Today I took Rish's, aka Blush Baby (who is so adorable by the way, now run to her blog!!), recommendation on getting out of my rut! She said to use black as a base and put color over it, which I used to love and totally forgot about! Turns out I'm sort of out of practice though, so uh the application isn't that great.

What I used:
-Sassy Minerals Shimmer Eye Candy in Apparition- Soft grey with a subtle shimmering highlight that appears green or mauve depending on the viewing angle (quite possibly my new favorite color, I love when I can actually see the duochrome!)
-Sassy Minerals Silk Luster Eye Candy in Haunted- Heathered periwinkle
-Sassy Minerals Liner Eye Candy in Flash of Brilliance- Smooth black with intense sparkling flashes of gold, aqua, and silver
-Exposed Organics Nectar mixing medium
-Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero- black
-Sassy Minerals So Cheeky Shimmer blush in First Kiss- coral peach with gold shimmer (I'm in love! 2 days in a row, what?!)
-NYX liptick in Bare- sheer pearlized opal
-Kat Von D Lightning Lipgloss in Bam- sheer grape with pink and gold glitter

Zero in a weird boxy shape on outer vee, then blended the crap outta it. Apparition all over lid and up into browbone. Haunted in crease. Flash of Brilliance wetlined with Nectar...I freaking love that stuff! Anyone who wetlines must buy it. Or else. Yeah, that's right, I threatened you XD

Do you see the pretties?? Green and mauve shimmer, just like the description! I love it when companies are so honest!!!

I bought the NYX lipstick and Kat Von D gloss from Van's makeup sale (who also rocks my socks, so there's another doll to follow!). Everything came very nicely packaged and with AWESOME prices! I wanted to do a mini review on the Lightning Lipgloss. Here goes! (This is in no way anything against my lovely Van, of course, just what I personally think about it!!)

Now hear me out- I wasn't expecting it to be so sheer. It looks SOOO pretty in the container! I had higher hopes for this, so ultimately it was very disappointing. It is literally just glitter on your lips. I only saw pink glitter in mine, no gold and no 'grape' color. It has a very fruity, chemical-y scent to it, which took a fairly long time to go away. The consistency is very thin and not sticky at all, which means that it lasts about 1 hour tops. If you drink or eat, its gone! I paid like $2 for it and it retails for $18. It's okay for layering on top of another lipstick, but on its own, it sort of disappears. It was totally worth $2, but $18?? Come on, Sephora. This reminds me of those lipglosses you wear as a little girl- all glitter and fruit scented, but crap in the real world. The pink glitter is reminiscent of Aromaleigh's Summer of Love lipgloss, but that is much more pigmented and lasts a whole lot longer.

Has anyone tried Kat Von D's Lightning Lipglosses? Did you like them? Any other new and fun application ideas I should try out? Do you like Apparition, cause I do!!! (That last one is barely a question)
