Exposed Organics Review, Look & Swatches

Tuesday, October 20, 2009
Exposed Organics has been on my wishlist for awhile now. I emailed the owner to see if I could purchase some samples (poor girl here!) but since she doesn't offer them, Celeste sent me some goodies to try out for the blog! In no way, shape or form does that effect my review other than I think she is a sweetheart! But I think my normal, somewhat brutal honesty kind of shows that I cannot be easily bought (except for tacos...yum...take me to Taco Bell and I'll write anything you want lol)!

One of the things I look for in a company is a little added extra...I'm not talking about freebies or anything, but presentation!Like Aromaleigh's cute lil pink bags, Orglamix's scented flower petals or The She Space's handwritten note! These little special touches mean a lot to me and are a big plus in my book! Exposed sends their packages with a cute little note written on them...

Aw! That totally made my day! How cute is that?! Celeste included Eye Dusts in Shimmerstain and Storm, and her new Integration line Eye Dusts in Black Pearl and Paradise. She also sent Nectar, a mixing medium, and a custom blended lipgloss, which I chose in Pineapple scent/flavor with Lexi Lilac coloring.

The shadows as a whole are perfection....everything a girl (or guy) wants in a loose pigment. The consistancy is smooth and creamy, reminiscent of Orglamix shadows. I had absolutely no fallout, which completely amazes me since these are shimmer heaven! Not in a frosty way, I mind add! Lasting power (even without a base or Nectar) is pretty long...at least 8 hours later, it looked completely the same!

Swatches are dry, then with Nectar, and Black Pearl (on the bottom) is dusted dry over Zero (black) liner

My thoughts on each product, with my own color descriptions-
-Shimmerstain- a very unique highlight/base color. It is a warm peachy gold with a hint of pink and tons of shimmer. I have 700 different colors and nothing comes close to this! When mixed with Nectar, you get a really unusual pearlized pinky-gold liner.
-Paradise- a warm toned shimmery iris purple with a hint of golden shimmer. Very pretty, soft color until you use Nectar and it's a HOT, bold purple liner with gold flecks!
-Storm- when dry, a luscious teal-ish blue grey, when wet, POPS to a sexy navy grey liner, perfect for smoky eyes!
-Black Pearl- uh-mazing!! A deep, dark blackened olive with gold shimmer. When placed over black liner, becomes the most gorgeous emerald green-gold. I'm seriously in love with it. A must have for any pig lover! When I spoke to Celeste, she said it also makes a great nailpolish!
-Nectar Natural Transformer- turns shadows into immovable, gorgeous liners. One of the best sealants I've come across. Enhances the colors without taking away their shimmer or duochrome! Easily smudge-able and blend-able before it dries, but after will not move (even on waterline). Dries fairly quickly, but not as fast as Aromaleigh or Visine, which I like because I get more time to perfect and blend color.
-Custom blended lip gloss in Lexi Lilac with Pineapple scent- I wanted a fun, tropical scent since it's getting so blah and crappy round here in Ohio. Pineapple smells (and tastes) yummy! The Lexi Lilac is more of a sheer purple gloss. Very fun to put on top of other lipsticks! Not sticky at all and made with good for your lips products, which is a huge plus!

The colors I was sent will be available on the website soon, but for now check out the Eye Dusts she already has up! I'm totally coveting Celestial and Alexisescence! Samples aren't available, but there are wet and dry swatches of each color on the website so you know what you are getting!

For this look I used Shimmerstain all over lid up to browbone as a base. Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero with Black Pearl on top and smudged into crease. Storm in inner vee. Lexi Lilac on lips and some random blush. Everything was used DRY (yeah...doesn't look like it right??). I love the Black Pearl on top of Zero...so fab!

Let me know if you have tried Exposed and what you think! If you are looking for a good mixing medium, I cannot stress enough how much you need this! Only $5 too!

Oh, lovely! And mmm, the lip gloss sounds yummy! Speaking of...your gloss swap package should be going out tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, but the sweetheart's been real busy at work. He said he'd send it tomorrow, though! =)

What gorgeous eyes you have! I love how you enhanced them with the shadows, which, by the way, look fabulous. I hadn't heard of the brand before, it's good to hear about new things!
