Amazing Primer Alert!

Pic taken from Detrivore site

As a pig junkie, I'm always on the lookout for a new primer. Anything that makes my pigments look foiled without actually doing it (cause who has the time for that!). For you non-addicts out there, foiling a loose pigment makes it look brighter, gives the sparkle more pop, and generally makes its look exactly like it does in the jar. I use Aromaleigh Indelible Eyeliner Sealant (which is on sale for $3 right now and a must have for anyone!) normally and I love it. I tend to only foil colors I use as liners since it becomes difficult to blend.

I was on the fence with whether or not I should try Detrivore Cosmetics for ages! Not sure why...I just was afraid of another Archetype sort of disaster (no way to get ahold of the owner, therefore no customer service, wait 4+ months, eh, no way!). I stumbled upon a great deal on Etsy (although they do not exclusively sell there, they also have a normal website too) to get samples of their first 50 original shadows with free shipping and a free primer for only $23! Let's see so thats each (very, very generous) sample for $0.46, free $3 shipping and free $6 primer...I couldn't resist!

I got the package when I was in Chicago and it was such a great treat to come home to! Today is my first time using Detrivore, so I did a little experiment of sorts. I was a little weary when I saw the primer...its a very thick, slightly sticky waxy kind of thing thats butter yellow. I thought the yellow might change the color of the makeup, but really it doesn't. On my right eye, I took a wee bit of Detrivore primer and on my left eye, I used Indelible cream shadow in Nude Frost (my 'primer' I've been using the past month or so).

See the results for yourself. Be prepared to be amazed!

HOLY BRIGHT PURPLE!!! I only used ONE layer of purple on the Detrivore primer eye (looks like your left, but is my right) and like four layers on the other eye. The colors I'm wearing are Detrivore Saprophyte (a light purple shade) and Weaponry (a pinkish purple color).

The stickyness of the primer is not really an issue. I can't feel it on my eye nor did it cause any creasing/melting of color. The next pic is taken about 8 hours later (which includes a nap and a very bad cold with runny eyes!)

The lighting is different, but you can only see slight fading in the inner corner which is mainly due to me rubbing my watering eyes.

Pros-
-Makes your colors POP
-Easy to blend over
-Inexpensive ($6)
-Completely natural, handmade formula (see list here)
-Very good on sensitive eyes (I can't wear UDPP or TFSI, they burn!)

Neutrals
-Slightly tacky feeling...I actually like this because I feel it holds better but not everyone does!
-Yellow color...I am very pale and it did show up a bit yellow on me, but did not change the color of the pigment
-In a jar, which some may find unsanitary...I used a concealer brush to put on eye and fingers to blend into skin

Cons
-None!

Thats it for this gigantic review on one product :P I'll be trying out more colors from Detrivore over the next couple weeks, but was so amazed I had to share this right away!

I've never tried primer, but I'm pretty convinced. I'll have to check it out! My eyeshadow is always fading so much throughout the day.

@Ida...I actually think it would! My eyes are sensitive too, and always red. This seemed to neutralize it quite well!
